Tasting Notes:
A pale, Provençal-style rosé with a California soul. Delicate aromas of crushed wild strawberry, grapefruit zest, dried herbs, and sea breeze rise from the glass. The palate is bone-dry and mineral-driven, with notes of watermelon rind, white cherry, and a whisper of rosemary. Clean, vibrant acidity keeps everything lifted and refreshing.
Pairings:
Ideal with coastal fare like grilled shrimp, tuna niçoise, salmon tartare, or a summer peach and burrata salad. A beautiful apéritif, but structured enough to shine with food.
Production Details:
Made from 100% Mourvèdre grown at Vogelzang Vineyard in the Happy Canyon AVA one of Santa Barbara’s warmest, sunniest corners. Inspired by the rosés of Bandol, this wine was fermented in neutral oak and finished in stainless steel, offering a perfect balance of texture and freshness. Bottled with just 11.5% alcohol for ultimate drinkability.
Story of the Vintage:
The 2021 season in Happy Canyon was warm and steady, yielding fruit with vibrancy and tension. Liquid Farm known for their terroir-focused philosophy lets the Mourvèdre speak in its own voice here: salty, subtle, and soulful. A California rosé made with restraint, integrity, and a quiet nod to the Mediterranean.
